Commitment to Mentorship: Demonstrate a genuine commitment to mentoring and supporting students in their career development journey. Mentoring requires time, dedication, and a willingness to share your expertise with others.
Excellent Communication Skills: Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey your ideas, provide feedback, and guide mentees in their career pursuits.
Empathy and Patience: Show empathy and patience when working with students from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Understand their challenges, aspirations, and goals, and provide support and encouragement along the way.
Professionalism and Integrity: Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in your interactions with mentees. Respect their confidentiality, maintain professional boundaries, and act with honesty and transparency at all times.

Set Clear Goals: Define clear and achievable goals for yourself, both short-term and long-term, in terms of your academic, professional, and personal development. Communicate your goals to your mentor and work together to create action plans for achieving them.
Take Initiative: Take initiative in driving the mentoring relationship forward by initiating conversations, asking questions, and seeking advice on topics that are important to you. Proactively seek opportunities to engage with your mentor and make the most of your time together.
